In New Jersey, is there a way to identify distressed properties BEFORE they come out in the Public Notices section of the local papers?

Nearly every place has subscription services available via either newsletter or online subscription. The people providing these services regularly visit the local courthouses and recording departments to track and document all LP's filed - Lis Pendens, that is. The LP's represent the official begining of the foreclosure process.
